When the Rancho Cordova Area business community speaks up, decision-makers hear us.

AB 2564 (Ward), a proposal that raised concerns about liability and restrictions surrounding common customer discounts, failed to advance before the end of the 2026 legislative session.

Advocating for Our Business Community

The Chamber and our members were actively engaged throughout the legislative process. We issued a Call to Action, members contacted legislators, and the United Chamber Advocacy Network (UCAN) raised concerns about AB 2564 directly with lawmakers during our advocacy day at the State Capitol.

The legislation could have affected businesses offering common customer-specific pricing and discounts while creating additional disclosure requirements and potential litigation risks. CalChamber identified AB 2564 as a “Cost Driver,” citing concerns about liability tied to consumer-friendly discounts and additional requirements involving customer information.

Member Participation Matters

Advocacy is most effective when businesses make their voices heard. Thank you to every member who responded to our Call to Action, contacted legislators and added your voice to the conversation.

Your participation demonstrates the strength of a connected business community and helps ensure the interests of Rancho Cordova Area businesses are represented.

This is advocacy in action—and an example of why member engagement matters.

Stay Engaged

The Rancho Cordova Area Chamber will continue to advocate for policies and partnerships that support a strong business environment. We encourage members to stay informed, respond to future Calls to Action and help us amplify the voice of the business community.
