Advocacy

The Government Relations Committee monitors policy issues and initiatives that impact our members, local businesses, and the Rancho Cordova community. Through strategic advocacy and civic engagement, the committee helps ensure the voice of business is represented at the local, regional, state, and federal levels.

The United Chamber Advocacy Network (UCAN) is a coalition of 10 local Chambers of Commerce—including El Dorado County, El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove, Folsom, Lincoln, Rancho Cordova, Rocklin, Roseville Area, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park, and Yuba-Sutter—working together to advocate for business issues in the Greater Sacramento Region. UCAN promotes a positive business climate and advances pro-business policies related to regulations, public safety, workforce development, and housing at the state level. The coalition is committed to supporting existing businesses and attracting new economic opportunities by improving public policy.

The Rancho Cordova Political Action Committee (RCPAC) is a non-partisan Political Action Committee dedicated to supporting election outcomes that promote local business success and the long-term prosperity of our community. 

Because Chamber membership dues cannot be used for campaign contributions, RCPAC was established to represent the political interests of our members. Contributions to RCPAC directly support candidates and initiatives that align with our mission to grow and protect Rancho Cordova’s economy. 

Endorsements and positions are initially proposed by the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee. Once approved by the Chamber’s full Board of Directors, the RCPAC board may be directed to develop and execute advocacy efforts in support of—or in opposition to—specific candidates or ballot measures. 

Candidates are encouraged to seek RCPAC's endorsement. As part of the review process, the Government Relations Committee may ask candidates to complete a policy questionnaire and participate in an interview. 

All statewide and local ballot measures are evaluated based on their projected impact on the business environment in both Rancho Cordova and the state of California.

Advocacy is at the heart of our mission. The Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to host this exclusive gathering, offering members the opportunity to engage directly with elected and appointed leaders across our region.

Over 30 officials represent the Rancho Cordova business corridor—including city, county, state, and federal representatives. This reception brings many of them together in one room for meaningful, face-to-face conversations that help shape the future of our region.
