Dr. Bhargava is a nationally recognized academic leader in economic modeling and the analysis of technology-based markets. His research focuses on decision analytics and how the unique characteristics of technology products influence operations, marketing, competitive strategy, and public policy.
His work spans platform businesses, information and telecommunications industries, healthcare, media and entertainment, and electric vehicles. With deep expertise in the economics of innovation, Dr. Bhargava brings critical perspective on how technology continues to reshape business and regional economies.
Dr. Sanjay Varshney, Ph.D., CFA
Founder & Chief Economist, Goldenstone Wealth Management
Professor of Finance, Sacramento State
Dr. Varshney brings more than 30 years of investment and economic expertise to this year’s Business Outlook. Prior to founding Goldenstone Wealth Management, he served as Senior Vice President and Senior Investment Strategist at Wells Fargo Private Bank, providing leadership on investment strategy across more than $200 billion in assets.
In addition to his work in wealth management, Dr. Varshney has served as Dean of the College of Business Administration at Sacramento State, Vice President for Economic and Regional Partnerships, and consultant to firms including Arthur Andersen. He is also the Founder and Chief Economist of the Sacramento Business Review and a frequent contributor to local and national media.
His presentation will deliver a data-driven outlook on the economic conditions, risks, and opportunities shaping our region in 2026 and beyond.
