Growing Something That Lasts

Leadership Rancho Cordova Class XIX is proud to present Rooted in Community — a transformational class project that will plant the foundation for long-term nourishment, sustainability, and dignity at the Rancho Cordova Food Locker Community Food Hub.

This initiative launches Phase I of the Community Food Hub’s garden, establishing a permanent orchard space that represents growth, resilience, and the power of collective action.

Together, we are planting more than trees — we are planting legacy.

About the Project

Rooted in Community will initiate Phase I of the Community Food Hub’s community garden through:

  • Installation of irrigation infrastructure
  • Planting of six semi-dwarf fruit trees
  • Creation of a welcoming, sustainable orchard space

This foundational orchard will enhance the environment of the Community Food Hub, provide fresh fruit to families in need, and serve as a visible symbol of what flourishes when a community invests in itself.

Phase I lays the groundwork for future garden expansion and continued community impact.

About the Rancho Cordova Food Locker Community Food Hub

Established in 1987, the Rancho Cordova Food Locker (RCFL) has provided emergency food assistance to families, seniors, and individuals in our community for decades.

As need has grown, so has the vision.

The Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub — the first of its kind in our area — is redefining food distribution as an experience grounded in dignity, respect, and empowerment. Guests shop in a grocery store-style marketplace, selecting fresh produce and staple items that reflect their household needs and cultural preferences.

Through food distribution, partnerships, and supportive services, the Community Food Hub provides essential nourishment while fostering stability and hope.

Rooted in Community strengthens that mission.

Sponsor the Orchard. Strengthen the Community.

Your sponsorship directly supports the installation and planting of this foundational orchard — and aligns your organization with a highly visible, purpose-driven community investment.
